We do not support this candidacy.

This position requires more than national leadership experience. It demands a consistent and unquestionable record of democratic governance, institutional independence, and neutrality in serving all member states.

Serious concerns have been raised by critics regarding aspects of his time in office, including allegations around the treatment of political opposition, restrictions on political space, and the detention of opposition figures.
