Alex Hormozi just spent 4 hours dropping the most brutal truths of the year on Modern Wisdom.
One line broke me:
"Money loves speed. Wealth loves time. Poverty loves indecision."
If I wanted to stop wasting my life, I would do these 10 things he said in that room.
Perspective is one of the strongest defenses against negativity. It does not change facts, but it changes the power facts have over you.
Two people can face the same event and emerge very differently because each interpreted the pain differently.
One sees failure as proof of inadequacy. Another sees it as instruction.
One sees criticism as a final verdict. Another sees it as data to evaluate.
One sees delay as abandonment. Another sees it as preparation.
One sees hardship as meaningless punishment. Another sees it as a context in which character is forged.
Existence itself is a miracle - the rest is science.
There is no single meaning to existence - if there were, we’d be slaves to it.
Within existence, there are rules of logic and science. If it was magic, the world would be un-navigable.
Truly the best of all possible worlds.
Your mood is a liar. You made the plan when you were smart. You made the plan when you were clear-headed and calm and could see the whole board. The version of you that made the plan had context. The version of you that wakes up groggy at 6am and doesn't want to do it has almost none.
You will die by the sword of your inaction if you do not throw away your fear and caution. You have every resource you need to succeed. Do not waste it.
You don't need to chant how amazing you are, or feel inspired by the person you are to win.
You just need to repeat successful actions longer and more diligently than any reasonable person would. And that - thankfully - has nothing to do with how you feel today.
High-agency people have this weird immunity to embarrassment. And the more you look at it the more you realize it's not that they're braver or or born without the shame gene.
It's that they relocated the shame. they moved the embarrassment button.
It's still there, they're not sociopaths, it's just wired to something completely different than everyone else's.
For most people the button is wired to: being seen wanting something and not immediately having it. Being caught trying. Looking dumb. Getting told no.
For high-agency people the button got rewired to a single thing: not trying. That's the only thing that makes them cringe.
