@ivanculum Your mom sounds like one incredible woman, Ivan. Thank you for sharing your story and with such few words, capturing her bravery, strength, and nurture.
Excited to be presenting our Calgary Flames Health Training Camp research virtually this October at ISPAH. After a year of pandemic delays, it will be great to hear from and share with other scholars again!
All decision notices have been sent out regarding presentations for our Congress. We will send out instructions for creating presentations shortly. #ISPAH2021#ISPAH
@KMason_Wpg Trouble is that it's a minimally paid frontline retail staffer that is being tasked with enforcing the rules now. I don't envy them. That's gotta be stressful. I'm just going to do what I can. #maskup
New publication, hot off the presses! We explored young women's perceptions of exercise misinfo online. Turns out, even exercise science pros were at least a little perplexed, believed some of it. Why? Bc repeated exposure to misinfo makes it seem true. https://t.co/tqxsRf1qTb
@tonitheyogi Family support is crucial for many seeking care, and definitely has a role in a person's outcome. We know family and social support can make an enormous difference to outcomes.
@JilleseLund Totally agree. These cutbacks were disheartening to say the least, in particular in the midst of a pandemic where our province was hit hard. Definitely an enormous barrier.
@kristenhovet There are some excellent examples of comprehensive health coverage in Scandinavian countries. Unfortunately some Canadian provinces are pushing for two-tiered systems and less coverage
@tonitheyogi Good point. What about hubs for virtual care, in particular in rural areas? This way secure, consistent access is at least possible and not at the cost to the individual.
@JHartthinks Yes! A healthcare system that is primarily focused on proactive rather than reactive care would improve so many conditions. A bonus for the higher ups: it would save billions.
