Criteria to be a football fan of a college football team
1. You went/go to school there
2. You grew up/lived in the same town
3. Parents/Grandparents graduated from there
Anything else and it’s stupid. You should have a connection to the football team you’re rooting for
I think one thing that people are kind of just choosing to gloss over for the most part here is that the Good Good kids are idiots. Recently they have posted things showing themselves getting kicked out of AirBnB’s, they scream constantly on the golf course, and their entire brand is tacky. It has been on a downside. This dumb gaffe with the driver ad was just a really opportune chance for the corporations to cut ties. For the most part the golfing populace is saying good riddance because they’re the figureheads of everything that’s hated in the modern golf landscape.
as I have said before, YouTube golf people are black marks on the sport, they add no value to the world, and everyone who supports their rise is complicit
I hate private equity.
Like, genuinely HATE it.
Not investing. Not business. I hate the specific model where a firm borrows money to buy a company, puts that debt on the company's books, pays itself fees out of the profits, and walks away rich whether it survives or not.
Toys R Us was profitable when they bought it. $5 billion in debt later, 33,000 people were out of work with zero severance.
The firms didn't lose. They never do. The debt isn't theirs.
Nobody's saying capitalism is the problem.
I'm saying there's a version of it where you can bankrupt a company on purpose, and it's legal, and it works every time.
Brother. ET didn't have a ton of fat on his body, but that little freak still weighed at least 30 lbs. If you think you're cooking, resting, and slicing ET all within 2 hours, then you've got another thing coming.
I'm saying ET is taking 7.5 hours at 275 to properly cook
In the first five years of his career, John was incredibly fun to cover. He liked to talk football, especially if you were interested in learning and listening. We had some arguments, in public and private, but he would pull me aside when he liked stories I'd written and say so.
