@PuckFupett69 He makes over 400k and you’re upset that the base salary for the electricians and machinists and signalmen and others like that is under 100k base?
@PuckFupett69 No union or no work force?
The funny thing about this world is once things cost something, it rarely goes down. So when the operating cost is X and you trim out staff, that money will just get spread to the remaining people, Janno libre will be getting paid like a ny Met
@PuckFupett69 Wild concept of inflation. There isn’t a job in the history of the world that the wages hasn’t increased over time..
Do you believe that workers need to just be content with a salary as the price of goods and services trend upwards year over year?
What do you suggest
@PuckFupett69 Truthfully o don’t find that rule outdated. Schedule better. Make sure you have the manpower to staff both trains.
In general though, bargain it out. If there’s something that the carrier doesn’t like they have to give to take it out. Benefit contributions, wages , days off etc
@PuckFupett69 Couple things with unions, any work rule threatened and lost sets a precedent that all can be taken away. The memebers have no say in what the carrier does with staffing/ hiring. I’m sure the current memebers enjoy bump in pay when they have the extra task, but union first
@ddmc62@notchrisvolpe Yes bc COL didn’t need to keep up/beat 15% over 4… it’s bc the economy has been torched. Next raise you ask for I’m sure you would want to ask for more then typical bc of the way the economy is now
