🚨Today we’re releasing the first developer preview of universal React Server Components in Expo Router!
For the first time ever, developers can use React Server Components and Server Functions in both their native apps and websites.

@tiagoefreitas Great question Tiago. I am working on an update that allows this by default. The same update will include an easy way to switch out the DB to use Neon or Supabase etc.
I’ll ping you when I launch that.

@ONeilObi1 @kigred React Native + React Native Web.
You write components once and import them to your RN and NextJS app respectively.
RNW works together with NextJS.
@akoskm@Dpacbags Hey Akos, the reason I did not add PWA support is because it comes with Expo by default, so you get a native iOS and Android app, as well as a Web version with Next, with 100% code sharability cross-platform. (thanks to React Native Web). People want native apps.
💫 The @Starlink app from @SpaceX is one of the most impressive Expo apps we've seen. Check out the short vid with @ccheever to learn a few details about how this app is put together.

@filippkowalski So true. Just because you walk off the beaten track, does not mean you're walking in the right direction. Often, it's the exact opposite.
Unfortunately, creativity is very often punished before it's praised.
It's basically a matter of keeping things as simple as possible to launch quickly. That's my mindset.
Firebase simplifies so many things.
Supabase is absolutely an incredible product and I have used it for many projects.
But Firebase gives you a few more things out-of-the-box, like Push Notifications for each platform and MMP functionality for when you're running Google Ads for your apps. (meaning, you can reliably track app installs from ad campaigns, where you'd otherwise need to use AppsFlyer/Adjust)
It gives you analytics that can be tightly integrated with Google Tag Manager for tracking user acquisition from different sources.
It's just a great platform. The only downside that I can think of is that it's not open source.
Firebase is by far still the easiest to use, and yet most encompassing feature set of any BaaS. Love what you've built! 🔥
It's so nice to have the database, authentication, analytics, push notifications and more, gathered in a single place.
P.S, super hyped about the new SQL support with Postgres (Data Connect)!
⚡️ What if you could incrementally adopt native views in React websites instead of starting from scratch?
🚀 Expo DOM Components make this possible!
