Funny how everyone who says
"Cyprus is the best place for entrepreneurs"
sells a relocation service to help you relocate to Cyprus and optimise your taxes
I can see an argument for openseo over ahrefs even if openseo has worse data
and it's that you can connect openseo to an agent for a good price but ahrefs costs a lot more just for that
It only gives 200 credits and with an agent those go quick
I forgot something IMPORTANT
if you want to connect @openseo_so and Google Search Console...
1. Create a Google Cloud Console account
2. APIs & Services โ Credentials โ Create credentials โ OAuth client ID
a. Application type: Web application
b. Authorized redirect URI: https://[YOUR_WORKER_OPENSEO_URL]/api/gsc/oauth/callback
- c. Save
Copy: Client ID & Client secret
4. Set the env vars:
a. GOOGLE_CLIENT_ID
b. GOOGLE_CLIENT_SECRET
c. BETTER_AUTH_SECRET (random 32 chars string)
6. Go to OpenSEO -> Project Settings -> Integrations
a. Choose property
b. Save
All of these vulnerabilities make me not want to run VPS'es even more
Only thing I might need it for is to run my agents
Or maybe I should use a mac mini for that
If you put a VPS on Tailscale, fix these two things immediately:
Disable key expiry (Machines โ ยทยทยท โ Disable Key Expiry). Otherwise, you risk losing access after 180 days.
Lock down your ACLs. Tag the VPS tag:server and only allow inbound connections from your own devices. Don't allow the server to initiate connections to your other machines.
By default, Tailscale allows everything to talk to everything, and device keys expire.
A compromised VPS shouldn't give an attacker access to your entire tailnet.
@Andrey__HQ@alexanderrX_ Can you give some specific examples that makes you say London is pessimistic place to live in? I live in London but not sure what that means
Bootstrapper's version of a Sunday reset:
- closing dead Stripe accounts
- deleting PostHog projects
- archiving old GitHub repositories
- rm -rf local clones of repositories
Doing taxes is humbling me
All the 50 dead project Stripe accounts I have I am now deleting to make it easier to get all transactions from Stripe
Same with PostHog and should probably archive repos etc
There's a mental overload every time I open a platform and I see 50 old projects that I killed in there
Keep things simple
As long as software companies still hire software engineers, the argument that SaaS is dead is false
Became how can a company employ you when it's not profitable
@oozn I do think he's going a bit over the top lately, probably works out like crazy, works like crazy etc
And yes he didn't measure before buying it, it would be better to first measure and if the problem was there then to buy the purifier
But it's all good
I'm a born-and-raised ๐จ๐พ Cypriot living in ๐ฌ๐ง London, I think it's time to settle this
If you want to have unlimited job opportunities where you get to work on interesting problems, startups, fintech companies and learn how to be a good software engineer, get your foot in the door, have the option to make good $, do things, explore and meet different people and cultures etc come to London
If you make your own f u money or want to risk it and only work on your own projects and chill, go somewhere like โ๏ธ ๐๏ธ Cyprus, blast the AC on 18C but you still pay $ to rent there, so probably Vietnam is still better but haven't tried that
For most London will suit better
Don't come to UK if you hate:
- banter (having a laugh)
- British people
- Sunday roast
- football
- fake tan
- lime bikes
- talking about the weather
- winning
