🚨 I just completed my Network Intrusion Detection Lab! 🚀
Repo link: https://t.co/ePy3J8USxp
I simulated a real-world attack in a controlled lab and analyzed it like a SOC analyst. Here’s the breakdown 🧵👇
Today’s session in my ongoing ISC2 CC Bootcamp focused on Domain 4: Network Security.
This domain dives into how data is protected in transit and how networks are structured to resist attacks.
Key areas covered include:
Basic networking concepts (protocols, ports, and traffic flow)
Network security devices such as firewalls, IDS/IPS
Secure communication protocols and encryption in transit
Common network-based threats and how they are mitigated
It’s a critical domain because it connects directly to real world scenarios, especially in monitoring, traffic analysis, and defending network infrastructure.
I’ll be reinforcing this with the self-paced training materials for deeper understanding.

I’ve just completed Domain 3 of the ISC2 Certified in Cybersecurity (CC) Online Self-Paced Training.
This domain focuses on Access Control Concepts, a core area in cybersecurity that defines how systems manage and restrict access to resources.
In this module, I explored:
Physical access controls (e.g., surveillance, badge systems, security guard)
Logical access controls (DAC, MAC, RBAC models)
Key principles like;
- Least privilege, and
- Segmentation
- The importance of ensuring only authorized users can access systems and data
Access control is fundamental to reducing attack surfaces and enforcing security across both physical and digital environments.
Next: Domain 4.

@Dr_SevenLabs Registration for the ongoing cohort has ended and classes has already begun, so you can no longer join this Bootcamp, but you can leverage the self-paced learning materials on the website to prepare for the exam
Day 2 of ISC2 CC Bootcamp - Cohort 4.0 ✅
Covered Domain 2 (BC, DR & Incident Response).
Also completed Domain 1 of the self-paced training + earned my certificate 💪
Progress stacking.

Today, I attended my first class in the ISC2 Certified in Cybersecurity (CC) Bootcamp - Cohort 4.0, where we covered Domain 1: Security Principles.
This domain lays the foundation for cybersecurity and introduces key concepts such as:
- Core security principles (Confidentiality, Integrity, Availability)
- Governance, risk, and compliance (GRC)
- Security controls and frameworks
- Business continuity, disaster recovery, and incident response basics
I also took the ISC2 CC course pre-assessment on the ISC2 platform, and passed.
It’s a good baseline check and a strong start to the program.
Looking forward to building deeper technical understanding as the bootcamp progresses.

Today’s session in my ongoing ISC2 Certified in Cybersecurity (CC) Bootcamp was particularly insightful.
We had a mentor-led Q&A session covering questions across all domains, with practical insights drawn from real-world experience, very valuable for connecting theory to practice.
Also, a quick progress update:
✅ Completed Domain 3 (yesterday)
📚 Continuing with the self-paced learning materials for deeper understanding
⏭️ Next up: Domain 4 (coming weekend)
This bootcamp has been genuinely impactful so far.
My appreciation goes to the entire team of @ISC2NIGChapter for organizing this program
Looking forward to building further as we progress.

I’ve just completed Domain 2 of the ISC2 Certified in Cybersecurity (CC) Online Self-Paced Training. 🥳
This domain focuses on Business Continuity, Disaster Recovery, and Incident Response, covering how organizations:
Maintain critical operations during disruptions
Respond effectively to security incidents
Recover systems and minimize impact after an event
Building this foundation is essential for understanding how security operations align with real-world business resilience.
On to the next domain.

@chukwupg I’d say they’re equally critical because they support different phases of the same incident. IR contains the threat, DR restores operations, and BC keeps the business functioning throughout the disruption.
@johncvillanueva Thanks! It’s been a lot already 😅 BC, DR & IR really show how critical preparation and response are in security. Which area do you think is most critical in practice?

No, you can no longer join the Bootcamp since application is closed, and classes have begun. But, you still have the chance to register for the certification on ISC2 website and use the self-paced material to prepare for the exam. If you’re interested, send me a DM and I will guide you through.
I’ve officially completed my onboarding and orientation for the ISC2 Certified in Cybersecurity (CC) Bootcamp - Cohort 4.0.
This marks an important step in my cybersecurity journey as I continue building foundational knowledge aligned with global best practices in security.
Through this program, I’m looking forward to strengthening my understanding of:
- Security principles and risk management
- Network security fundamentals
- Incident response and access control concepts
As someone actively transitioning deeper into cybersecurity, I’m excited about the growth, hands-on learning, and community that comes with this experience.
If you’re also in Cohort 4.0 or pursuing the CC certification, I’d be glad to connect and share insights.
