This debate of younger people not understanding or misrepresenting millennial “hipster” culture will keep on happening because much (most?) of the primary sources have been vaporized from the internet. Photo sites, blogs, articles, photo dumps from FB, entire websites from that era are gone.

People don’t want to get harassed by criminals or the mentally ill and will take the rare chance of a car accident over it (especially since anti-social behavior can escalate to injuries / death)
