@LaddOnly @darwintojesus I’m thinking of a categorical type of ought, and if you want a consistent worldview and you want to live as reasonably as possible, I don’t see why you think there is sufficient reason to care about yourself.

Take this scenario, there’s a group of 5 people stranded on a desert island and one out of the 5 is a small child, they all get it in their heads to eat the boy and satisfy their hunger but the boy has this stubborn feeling that he deserves to live. What wins out?

@LaddOnly @darwintojesus We are both trying to talk about morality, morality is about good and evil, good is what we ought to do. You need to get an ought from somewhere and that somewhere can’t be an is. If you aren’t talking about oughts then you aren’t talking morality
