@lingxi@bot Persistent voice selection per bot. Currently voice selection is not sticky so changing a voice for one session doesn't get remembered for the next - prefer if it did!
@MiroslavValocky@alojohhardcore This is a quick confirmation to reinforce conviction. Not as mentally taxing as reading a long answer to a previously addressed question. Just my take.
@TheLaurenChen Asking donation of money from Elon literally means relinquishing % ownership of those companies and giving away the proceeds - which he has done in the order multiple millions if not billions already. He's already the greatest individual tax contributor in world history.
@TheLaurenChen Also to clarify, it's not like it's a trillion dollars of cash sitting in a bank account - it's the value of the stock ownership of multiple companies that he spent nearly all of his waking hours building continuously for nearly 20 years.
@PeakWorld9@XFreeze Let the market decide. If the people don't want it, they're free to choose alternatives. Having more options is better for the people.
@Firetrade0129@WassymBensaid@ZacksJerryRig@RivianTrackr It's an engineering trade-off between an extra 15-60 seconds of time required to return to normal ride heights to drive away weighed against the incremental benefit of lowering an extra inch.
@Firetrade0129@WassymBensaid@ZacksJerryRig@RivianTrackr A "slammed" mode is possible, but you have to weigh that against an extra few seconds to recover the height back to normal. For most, kneel height is enough and balances speed and function. For others, going "slammed" may be worth spending several additional seconds each time.
@Firetrade0129@WassymBensaid@ZacksJerryRig@RivianTrackr A few reasons:
1. When you go super low, you begin to lower onto the foam bump stops, which require you to drain an excessive amount of air from the air suspension to compensate for the resistance to compress the bump stops.
2. Takes longer to lower & raise as a result
@bonchieredstate Don't get me wrong, the H1-B system is suseptible to bad actors gaming the system and needs reform, but reform shouldn't mean rejecting entry-level positions entirely.
@bonchieredstate Top talent exists at all levels.
A top engineering grad of a top university isn't going to jump into a staff level+ role right out of college. And the entry level job that the same grad would start at isn't necessarily going to pay a salary at the top 1% level.
@LeftAnimalFarm@TheChiefNerd@elonmusk The legs are heavy and if the functional requirement of keeping the booster upright upon landing can be offloaded to the ground (i.e. the tower), the rocket payload capacity is increased.
Secondly, the concrete pad can't sustain the power of the thrust during landing without dmg
@BCRoamer2022 Driving dynamics is a huge differentiator between Rivian and any other vehicle out there. The versatility that comes with the unique suspension hardware gives you the ability to simultaneously tune damping, roll stiffness, and ride height. Land rover dynamics to 911 in one click!
@magajcs@morgana_SSS@InternetH0F I like this idea. Universities sharing the risk with students would disincentivize bogus degrees from being an option in the first place. Make college free or at least cheaper, and wages of grads partially garnered until a specified amount is met. Easier said then done though.
