Volunteers are an essential part of Alberta’s social and economic fabric.

I had the pleasure of kicking off National Volunteer Week on Sunday with the uTurn Project, where we celebrated the incredible impact volunteers are making across Alberta.

Our government was proud to award uTurn with nearly $7,500 through the Ethnocultural Grant last year to support their work and advance community-led solutions that break barriers and strengthen Alberta's communities.

I met many of them at Sunday’s National Volunteer Week kickoff event in Calgary, including the emcee Jay Chowdhury. As Program Director of the uTurn Project, he helps individuals deal with domestic violence, housing, and the legal system. Bravo to volunteers everywhere!

It was a moment of sheer joy to see our Prime Minister, Rt. Hon. Mark Carney, @MarkJCarney and the Leader of the Official Opposition, Hon. Pierre Poilievre, @PierrePoilievre coming together in prayer at the 60th National Prayer Breakfast in Ottawa last Tuesday.

We lift up Mark and his family—Diana, Cleo, Tess, Amelia, and Sasha—as well as Pierre and his family—Anaida, Valentina, and Cruz—in our prayers. May God continue to guide them with wisdom, unity, and grace.
