@keithbailey72 Diabetes can be a huge financial burden on patients and their families, and given the large number of people with diabetes in our province, I think this is great news!
@svyetman I agree, studying has a negative impact on my mood, too. University can be a major stressor for many students. I suggest listening to music; it's a great way to lower stress and better wellness – it influences your pulse, BP, and muscle activity to help you feel relaxed. #HKR1000
While using Welltrack I noticed that my moods were better while with my friends. #HKR1000 has taught me that meaningful relationships buffer stress and improve overall wellness. I keep in regular contact with friends/family so that I can offer and accept support in times of need.
@AlexandreN_03 You're right, fruits and veggies are so important to our physical wellness! They're a great source of water, which regulates body temp, transports chemicals, removes waste, etc. Water is vital to our bodies but often ignored (a habit of mine); try to drink about 3L a day!#HKR1000
CBC posted an article about the importance of air quality. Researchers found that curbing air pollution (which is linked to many health problems) can prevent millions of premature deaths. Your health depends on the planet's health; take action to mitigate climate change! #HKR1000
@twilkinsmun1#HKR1000 You're right, physical activity is so important to our health! I've noticed that 25% of our class report dizziness, which could be a sign of failing to cool down after exercise. Move at a slower pace for 5min after a workout to slow your heart rate and prevent BP drop.
#HKR1000 Getting enough sleep plays a big role in managing stress and improving physical wellness. 64% of my class feel like they need more sleep and consequently, 44% feel a reduced level of wellness because of stress. Let's put our phones down and get a good night's sleep.
