A prison visit meant to deliver a meal instead blew a plot wide open after sharp-eyed officers at Ruai Police Station unravelled a scheme to hand remanded suspects the very tools of their escape.
Christine Njoki Gitau, 18, strolled into the station reception with all the calm of an innocent visitor, requesting to see three friends held over robbery with violence and gang rape. In her hands: a plate of rice and meat, packed with what she claimed was nothing more than a meal for three suspects.
The three: Emmanuel Bosire, Ismael Arisa and Brian Gatheru are being held at the station for operating an anonymous TikTok page, using it to lure young women into meetings before gang-raping and robbing them of their valuables.
But the cell sentry's instincts proved sharper than her disguise. A routine scoop through the food led to a shocking discovery: buried beneath the meal lay a pair of pliers and a shear, cold-steel tools meant to aid the escape of the three suspects.
In an instant, a jailbreak-in-waiting was crushed before it could hatch. Christine was placed under immediate arrest, her plate of deception now the centrepiece of a widening investigation into who else may have had a hand in the plot.
The DCI reminds members of the public that aiding or attempting to aid an escape from lawful custody is a serious criminal offence and those found committing such acts will be met with the full force of the law.

Politicians steal your resources. The church steals your brain.
The church is worse.
Politicians in bed with the church is disastrous.
They steal your resources, and they all blame you for not tithing enough.
Then you accept it as the truth.
Stop eating for a while and the body turns inward and eats its own damaged parts. Itโs called autophagy and it only really runs when youโre not digesting. No animal in nature grazes from dawn to midnight. Neither should you.
For many Kenyans, the story of public transport transformation began in the 1990s when the Toyota Hiace was among the brands that replaced the then popular โface meโ vans, revolutionizing comfort, reliability, and mobility across the country.
For decades, Kenya has imported this iconic vehicle. Today, we marked a major milestone in our industrial journey with the launch of the local assembly of the Toyota Hiace matatu at Kenya Vehicle Manufacturers (KVM) in Thika.
This is more than the assembly of a vehicle. It is about creating jobs, strengthening local industries, building technical skills, and growing Kenyaโs manufacturing capacity.
I am encouraged that KVM has already created employment opportunities for more than 200 people, with plans for expansion expected to create even more jobs for our youth.
Local vehicle assembly also creates demand for locally produced components, opening opportunities for suppliers, manufacturers, and SMEs to participate in the automotive value chain.
We will continue to position Kenya as a competitive automotive manufacturing hub to drive industrial growth and job creation.

@amerix@amerix To my observation, social media, local and international media (both written and visual) have completely destroyed both parents and children.
Everyone is looking for attention from videos to post tiktok, to news making headlines then next gen-z demonstrations.
Its bad.
@amerix Just know you are doing great job.

@KenyaPower_Care With all due respect, how comes that a fuse takes 2 days to replace. This is Wangige, Bishop Kariuki , along NGCDF offices, kabete road.
Its very frustrating that residents make a request but nothing is being done.
What's the purpose of emergency response.
A concern.
