crypto exchanges aren’t looking very crypto-only anymore
been looking at @binance’s perps data and it kinda proves it. 10 of the top 15 perpetual contracts by 24h volume are tied to tradfi assets now, stocks, etfs, commodities. the remaining five are crypto perps, led by btc and other major tokens.
the growth backs it up too. stock-linked perp volume across CEXs is up roughly 79x since the start of 2026, and binance accounted for about 76% of equity perp volume in july.
then there’s the SanDisk number, wild on its own. binance’s $SNDK perp did about $6.87B in 24h volume on aug 19, roughly 22% of SanDisk’s 24h trading volume on Nasdaq.
not just perps either. 7,000+ US stocks and etfs are tradeable directly now, plus tokenized securities and commodity exposure through derivatives.
tradfi moving into crypto used to be a talking point. now it’s just what the data shows.
binance’s tradfi perpetuals are part of that shift, available in select regions.

VIP tiers usually mean grinding your way up with more and more volume
@Binance is doing something a little different with VIP 6 for Six. eligible users can skip the usual climb and start at VIP 6 for two months, with a chance to extend it up to six months by hitting the required milestones.
the fee side is obviously a big one, with up to 80% discounted rates. but the other benefits are probably more interesting for active traders
0% institutional loans for a month, $BNB borrowing at 2.5% with no collateral, higher VIP Earn yields, Capital Connect, and a dedicated account manager who actually knows your trading setup.
there are also VIP-only events, networking opportunities and seasonal perks, so it goes beyond just trading fees.
and there are two ways in. current VIP 1-5 users and eligible VIPs from other exchanges can take the growth track, while lapsed VIP 3-6 users may qualify through the reactivation track.
basically, if you’re already trading at that level, it’s worth checking whether you qualify.
skipping the climb is probably the part we’d pay attention to.

Harmony plans blockchain rollback after 3T ONE exploit
@harmonyprotocol plans to roll back Shard 0 and Shard 1 to before last week’s exploit after finding that 3.01 trillion $ONE were forged across six transactions.
The attacker moved nearly 2.4T $ONE in under two minutes. Harmony said it traced nearly all the forged tokens, but many passed through DEXs and bridges, making a safe burn difficult. The rollback will discard all blocks and transactions after the confirmed mint.

Quantum computing sounds scary when you hear “it could break crypto”
but that’s not where we are today!
@binance CSO Jimmy Su put it pretty simply. current quantum computers aren’t even close to cracking the cryptography protecting bitcoin, ethereum and other major networks. no reason to panic rn
the part actually worth watching is what happens before quantum gets there
post-quantum crypto already exists. NIST finalized its first standards for it in 2024. the hard part is getting the whole ecosystem to adopt it. chains, wallets, exchanges, custodians, millions of users. that’s years, not a switch flip
exchanges are already in on this. binance for one has been tracking quantum developments, evaluating post-quantum security standards and preparing its infrastructure for the eventual migration.
still an ecosystem problem tho. no exchange can become fully quantum-safe on its own if the chains and wallets around it aren’t ready too.
meanwhile, the real risks are way less sci-fi
phishing, malware, social engineering, compromised credentials, sloppy wallet security
that’s what users actually need to worry about today, not quantum computers
worth prepping for early. not worth panicking over yet 🧠
Polygon joins Bank of England’s Digital Pound Lab
@0xPolygon has joined Phase 2 of the Bank of England’s Digital Pound Lab with NOBO Finance and Dun & Bradstreet to test cross-border settlement between stablecoins and a simulated digital pound.
The consortium will use Polygon’s Open Money Stack for the stablecoin leg, while the Bank’s simulated rails handle the digital pound side. The group is also testing a portable credit identity for businesses.
The Lab uses no real money or customers, and the tests do not imply Bank of England endorsement of Polygon or its products.
Satoshi didn’t call it electronic currency.
He called it “cash”!
The full title of the Bitcoin whitepaper is “A Peer-to-Peer Electronic Cash System.” That single word still defines the category better than anything that came after it.
For teams building wallets, stablecoins, payment processors, remittance tools, or merchant platforms, .cash is a domain that does part of the explaining for you. It needs no translation and no crypto literacy. It also comes with registry-level protections DNSSEC, Registry Lock, and homographic blocking that help reduce the risk of lookalike-domain attacks, something that matters when real money is involved. A clear, descriptive name can further improve how search engines and AI tools surface your product.
