I'm not saying SM and technology are bad for a person, all I'm saying is to take them with a grain of salt ...
Although SM and tech keep people and issues around the world connected, if not used correctly, it can become addictive (comparing yourself, judging,...)

@VKokozos Interesting article. Of course, as the article suggests, limited screen time is key. Despite its disadvantages, both short and long term, technology can be beneficial for learning purposes, if used for a limited time.
@VKokozos Yes they should! But, unfortunately, a lot of parents do not. They merely allow their young children to stay on their devices for as long as they'd like, as a diversion to "behave" when in public.
Interesting to note is the "echo chambers" found online. Where like-minded participants share off of each others "shared" ideas, and filter out other ideas that don't "fit". This impedes learning online since only shared opinions are only taken into account. #lesson13
@VickyKatsigian2 Of course, we are not saying to bombard the children with ALL the messages conveyed ... but you know talk to them about the most predominant ones like a woman being able to get things done without the help of a man ...
Yes, Disney is very powerful, and can be very influential. But parents can play a role here too! You can always to talk to your child about some things they may see like racism (who their portrayed by), gender roles, appearances, while keeping the fantasy part alive #lesson11
I think teachers can provide their students with a crash course on the Rights and Responsibilities of the technology they are using. Despite students having a basic understanding of them, it allows teachers to be more proactive (preventing Cyberbullying) #lesson4
I think as a teacher, digital code should be taught to students, if one wishes to incorporate technology in the class. Students need to be aware of the consequences of their words online, and how they may affect other users. #lesson13
Perhaps I'm a little naive in my thinking, but I was a little shocked to see, throughout the reading, that hate Websites are an actual "thing" and in 2010, reached around 2000 of said sites. #lesson13
