Class 4 have been learning how to recognise and name some significant people from the past.
They then used this knowledge and applied it, to creating timelines of history!

What a great first week back!
Class 4 have done some amazing Non-chronological reports all about themselves in English, with lots and lots of Phonics practice as well. In Maths we’re doing numbers to 100 and in PE we started our new topic of Rounders.
To consolidate the children’s learning on our topic of ‘Amazing Africa’ the children have used their art retrieval skills and knowledge to create a some amazing Tinga Tinga art work.
We can’t wait to open our doors to pupils and families tomorrow! It’s been a long journey but the St Mary’s SPIRIT is as strong as ever 🙏🏼💙🙏🏼

Yesterday, we said goodbye to St James’ House which has been our temporary school for 2.5yrs.

Wow what a first week back
In English we’ve been writing our own firework poems, which were amazing.
In topic we’ve done all about Remembrance Day. We created poppies out of different materials and learned all about the treaty of Versailles.

We looked at a firework display and even painted our own and then made some with tissue paper!

Wow what a week we’ve had in class 4!
We’ve done lots of work in English, where we looked at the traditional tale Little Red Riding Hood. We created our own text maps to help us retell the story. Then we wrote a sentence describing a character, using some amazing adjectives.
Another fantastic week in Class 4!!
We’ve done some amazing spellings in English and in Maths we’ve done our number bonds to 10 and even tried number bonds to 20!
In Topic we looked at the paintings of Joseph Wright and even did some of our own! We did amazing!
Class 11 loved their geography field work day. They produced some excellent work on the local area, using their maps skills and compass knowledge. @stmarysderby@class4stmarys
