A fantastic day in @class_5Sz : making our own chocolates that we’ve designed ourselves, creating costumes for #WorldBookDay in a lunchtime craft session and the WHOLE CLASS getting reading certificates!
@iszi_lawrence @afharrold In Poland, we have something called 'smalec'. I'm told it is akin to dripping. It's basically lard but with bacony bits and sometimes onion. It's delicious on bread, at any time of the day. English people tend to recoil in horror when I tell them about it!
@MissSDoherty@deputygrocott There's a great book called How not to Write a Novel (aimed at adults, but you could take ideas from it). Talks about the problem of descriptions which make you think so hard about the simile (e.g shark / Hitler) that the whole point of it is lost.
@bennewmark Also, surely most workplaces have employees running to different schedules, e.g in a supermarket, you obviously can't all have breaks at the same time, hence a bell would be unfeasible. Completely bonkers argument
These children really excelled in our fraction hunt today! We got lots of practice converting improper fractions to mixed numbers. @class_5Sz@HowardJuniorSch
@SchoolsWeek@bennewmark @TheHopefulHT @StuartLock It's amazing how these two approaches are mostly the same - they just call things by different names!
@Mr_K_Teacher If you've the technology for it, could they make a film or a documentary? They could show this to the children who were on the residential so they have something to show off.
"Instead of looking for hope, look for action. Then, and only then, hope will come. We can't save the world by playing by the rules, because the rules have to be changed. Everything needs to change, and it has to start today." @GretaThunberg https://t.co/at3Blb6dS4
