Two years ago, I had a crisis. These days, there are more good days than tough ones. I'm sharing my story because we need a balance of stories. The 10 min mark of this video explains why we need to #getloud & #getreal about #mentalhealth#MentalHealthWeek https://t.co/Qfb0AxjSUr
That’s kind of cool. The app goes through some cognitive behaviour therapy strategies to help youth and teens navigate #anxiety and #depression. Free for youth, user fees for adults. #mentalhealth
How do we make sure #digital#literacy is included in our classrooms? More importantly, how do we make sure our teachers are comfortable teaching #edtech? So many of us in #education shy away from things we don’t understand well. #edchat
Which one do you think is most important? We spend a lot of time on reading, writing, and arithmetic in the #middleschool classroom, and these are important. But the grass is greener where you water it. Are we growing the future leaders that we need? #edchat#6cs
I first used @getaudacity in my Grade 8 classroom to help my students create their own radio @HistoricaCanada heritage minutes based on their historical research. Now, I use it for business. Why yes, the #edtech we use in the classroom can be relevant to the real world. #edchat
It seems like students can create characters using Gacha Studio (free app) and then use them in youtube, cover art, or other noncommercial ways. How could we use this app in the classroom? Comic strip assignments? #edtech https://t.co/VSWnOVZnw5
Trying to find a great deal on #wristbands. My Grade 8 students used them as part of our @GiveHopeFreedom BWP project with @TLPCanada entrepreneurial adventure. Now I'm trying to create a movement to build grit, tenacity, and resilience in students: https://t.co/7P8khNFL72
@mraspinall#GoogleClassroom can create a printer-less class because it provides a framework to distribute handouts, differentiate work, be transparent about marks/feedback, and collect work. The real question is how to ensure all students have access to #edtech. BYOT doesn’t cut it. #equity
Did you just finish parent-teacher interviews at #school? How many of your parents just swoop in and save the day? NO room at all for these kids to build any sort of resilience!!! What do you think?

Donovan Bailey what has happened? You owe 2.3 million in back taxes!! Your resiliency, training and Olympic pedigree should be your legacy! Let's take care of this and get you known once again for your true greatness!

This Saturday as you likely don't head into the classroom, reflect back on the week that was and remind yourself of 2 things you are proud of and went well. A lesson, an interaction, how you handled a challenging student perhaps. Don't forget the small victories!

Chatting with an #Ottawa#smallbusiness client about raising their #smm =game. We looked at @semrush analytics of their twitter feed. Tinkering with strategies: 1. high volume hashtags, 2. engage with high follower accounts, 3. staying positive. How do you get more followers?
This is the whole point of #education - to have our students grow up to become leaders in society #edchat. Now the question is how do we create more leaders to stand up for the issues they think are important? #leadership
Congratulations Zizo @ManUpLDHSS for speaking up to help redefine what it means to be a man. I’m proud to have taught you in Gr 8 #ottawa. You show others HOW to make the world a better place: Standing up when others are sitting is hard, but this is the goal of #education#edchat
I love pretty icons. Just purchased a license for @icons_8 to use with #ottawa#smallbusiness website clients. Sure I could use their free creative commons license, but I like supporting things I use, plus their “Icons8 Paid Features” video is funny. https://t.co/DJffh7zf63
@mraspinall new teacher advice: teacher burn out is real. In fact the better you are, the more at risk you are of giving it all to your students at the expense of your #mentalhealth. Don’t be a candle that burns out, but it’s still important to be the spark that inspires. #edchat
Do you do the right thing when no one is looking? This woman put hair in her food to try to get it for free. Do you think this is a harmless crime? How do you think her friends, boss, family would feel?
