We are pleased to inform about a new collaboration with the Smurfit Institute of Genetics at the University of Dublin. Prof. Dan Bradley now intends to extract aDNA from 3 samples of pleistocene aurochs from Germany provided by the Auerrind project. #europeanrewildingnetwork

Part of the research efforts of the Auerrindproject is to compare and study cranial morphology of both Bos primigenius and Bos taurus as well as other wild Bovini. A first report is planned to be published in 2022. So stay tuned and support us in our efforts

As part of the #12montsmanor series, we would like to share yet another functional replica with you: a spade.
This replica used in Lauresham is based on the find (8/9.th century) of Münchhausen. Within Lorsch Abbey itself, spade types like these have been discorered as well.
