Their vocation is a critical part of that. There needs to be a real world consequence for attendance and reminding them about that is not scolding.

@Benaskren Career and Technical Education is the way to go. I teach welding but there are so many other opportunities. It's paid for by your school (local taxes) ready for entry level work right out of high school.
