Let’s not forget that even if England win against Norway on Saturday they will then immediately have to march 200 miles south and play France without so much as a hydration break
Labour, Tories, Lib Dems and Greens: I demand you stand down in Clacton. I will be a unity candidate and pledge to build at least one affordable house.
Nigel Farage says he wants The People versus the Establishment. So be it.
Leave him to me.
88 of your American Fahrenheits here today, but we don't need air conditioning, because all Europeans are inherently cooler than you.
Also, the last 72 hours in the history of US soccer will never stop being funny.
With warm wishes (in every sense ) and blessings to all our followers and friends on this Fifth Sunday after Trinity.
It was a pleasure to welcome as guest preacher this morning Fr Evan McWilliams.
Well spent afternoon with young people from across East Belfast playing at Legacy Network’s “Battle of the Bonfires” football tournament. Three years now we’ve been doing this and it just gets bigger and better. Great to see young people coming together.
We don't need to imagine, Diane.
UK Jews funded the kindertransport & were tasked with finding homes for all children, so as not to be 'a burden on the public'. Each needed £50 (£4200 in 2026 money) put up to fund what was expected to be post-war re-migration to home countries.
Amazing young man and what a tribute this is to his school. "His confidence started to improve when he attended secondary school". I could imagine it going the other way.

Just before PMQs, at the despatch box, she called one of my MPs a racist. She’s just said it again on Radio 4.
The hordes of Labour MPs rushing to twitter to whine about me calling her “spiteful” are just exposing their own hypocrisy.
They love to dish it but they can’t take it.
A note to BBC Good Morning Ulster for reading out an Irish republicans text about Jeffrey Donaldson and media reporting.
The difference with reporting on what Sinn Féin figures knew about cases linked to republicans was that the party had covered up the abuse. The DUP did not.
Gerry Adams covered up his father's abuse by giving him a full republican funeral.
He then covered up his brother's abuse of his niece for years.
He knew about my case and when it hit the public domain, he denied ever speaking about the abuse and lied through his teeth.
He knew about Paudi McGahon's case because he received a letter from his TD years before it went public.
When Michael McMonagle was arrested for abuse, Sinn Féin press officers gave him a glowing job reference.
When Niall O'Donnghaile was sending inappropriate pictures of himself to a child, the party lied about the child's age and Mary Lou Mc Donald gave him a glowing public reference.
And that does not even begin to scratch the surface of the IRA "investigations" into over 60 cases of child abuse which they ensured didn't make it to a criminal court, by covering up for the perpetrators by moving them around.
And still Sinn Féin back those who covered for perpetrators instead of standing with victims.
Anybody who’s old enough will find a dark humor in seeing Gerry Adams calling for calm and denouncing people for being unhappy with people of non-Irish heritage being present in Ireland
But apparently it is fine to use this horrific tragedy to have a go at the English, as if there are no right wing politicians in Ireland.
This place would depress you.
16% of the UK population is from an ethnic minority. As are 12% of judges & 17% of barristers. So broadly demographically consistent.
93% of UK children go to state schools but only 21% of judges did. So why is David Lammy more interested in racial parity than social disparity?
Got it. If Irish aluminum is used to kill Palestinians, it’s shouldn’t be sold, but if it’s used for Russian missiles killing Ukrainians, we just need to think about local jobs first.
For weeks, Irish politicians have dodged questions about the refinery in Ireland supplying Russia’s war machine.
So I tracked down government minister Niall Collins at a farming show.
He refuses to back sanctions & his stance was worse than I expected.
Avoidance.
