Also been speaking to a no. of residents who advised they have been told by members of @LewishamCouncil workforce to flytip. If this is true, this is shocking and LC need to take full responsibility. When will flytipping in Bellingam be taken seriously? @alan_ha11 @RachelOnikosi

@phoenixtogether / @LewishamCouncil, this spot is filthy constantly &reported repeatedly and right next to Athelney school. A young woman was stopped recently and said she’d ’been told’ she could leave her rubbish there. Surely not? @cleanbellingham @RachelOnikosi

Still haven't heard from @damienegan and @LewishamCouncil. It seems they are hiding behind the issue as residents have to suffer with the rise in flytipping and littering in #SE6.

Haven't heard back from @damienegan or @LewishamCouncil about what they are doing to prevent flytipping in the area. Would appreciate a response. We have a team of people who are ready to help but we need support from the local authority. #flytipping #se6

@LewishamCouncil Can you explain your rationale for this? Surely it makes sense to start from the beginning. Can you ensure that all extra refuse in these areas is collected properly, even if bins are overflowing?

Agree, there are an increasing number of mattresses on the streets of Bellingham and Downham. Hoping 2021 will bring a change of attitude to flytipping with the help of @LewishamCouncil @phoenixtogether .

Three times in my adult life I've bought a new bed. Each time I've paid retailer a small sum to take the old one away. Why can't inhabitants of Bellingham & Downham do likewise? Whole area is infested with discarded mattresses & it's disgraceful. @cleanbellingham @CatfordCleanup

@damienegan Does this mean flytipping will continue to increase in the borough? It doesn't seem high on your priority list as it is, let alone with further budget cuts.
