Scalus Club #1: Cardano Smart Contracts with Scalus
We’re kicking off the first Scalus Club session — a hands-on deep dive into how to build, test, and debug smart contracts on #Cardano using Scalus.
🗓️ Wednesday, 22 October 14:30 - 16:00 (UTC)

Blockchain transaction fees are notorious for being a big adoption factor. @ethereum gas fees frequently reached highs over $100 and cruised on average over $20 in 2021-2022, down to $1 in 2025. Here, I’ll try to ELI5 how #Cardano Tx fees work 🧵👇
After some consideration, I think it might be really helpful for the Cardano Community to have another option for Administrator for treasury funded proposals.
Would you like to see PRAGMA as an option?
I just voted YES to the Amaru Node Budget Request.
Node diversity is of paramount importance, the team is super solid, and the budget is reasonable.

Let's go @pragma_org !
We’re pleased to share the @Amaru_Cardano Team has just proposed their governance action for DRep consideration.
Thank you to the community that helped us shape this and a special thanks to the dReps for reading and considering this proposal.

Transparency is so important in our ecosystem. We've now posted PRAGMA's Statutes on our website for easy access. Clear rules matter and should be accessible to all.
Please forgive us, we had them on GitHub but realize not everyone speaks 'nerd' fluently. https://t.co/GnFp6hEHUK

🚀 Excited to share that our paper "Serial Monopoly on Blockchains with Quasi-patient Users" will be presented at FC'25! Looking forward to discussing it in Japan 🇯🇵 with @PaoloPenna8. See you there!
@lacepool_com@matiwinnetou@adamKDean@Cardano_CF Bear with us please until we release the MVP. To implement it on-chain it is following the metadata spec which will be registered via CIP-10 but we want a bit of freedom until then, to change the format as we are still learning. You can see TX on mainnet from the softlaunch
Join us for the #13 Cardano Developers Office Hours!
This session will feature Thomas Kammerlocher, who will present the Java implementation of Rosetta, a crucial tool used by centralized exchanges (CEXs) to list and trade ADA.

Sure,
When writing code to develop an application in the traditional world (non blockchain), usually, you have to interact with other services like for example a database.
Now, most of the database provider (like mysql, postgres, oracle etc) have made super simple to run a database on your computer or laptop.
When developing a dApp on Cardano, or other blockchain, you MUST talk to a blockchain.
Cardano has 3 main chains: preview, preprod, mainnet.
Developing against REAL blockchain can be slow and problematic: you must fund wallets you want to use, wait for blocks to be produced every 20 seconds etc etc... on top of that, you need to talk to the blockchain, so you need an account on maestro, blockfrost etc....
Even worse, if you're 40k feet on an airplane on a 10h flight, you can't work, coz you got no internet.
A DevKit is a "kit" or "toolbox" which give you ALL you need to write a dApp on Cardano w/o being connected to interenet or something. Chain is superfast (1second block for example) and you can fund all teh wallets you want, mint tokens etc, just w/ a snap of the finger. 0 wait time. Blockfrost, ogmios and all this is running already for you, for free etc.
As result, writing code is much faster experience, faster feedback etc and should make people happier and less frustrated.
Does it help?
