@tobitac No pity here. My wife had to wait in her country of residence, apply, and then come here. We never loved each other any less, even if it was stressful. She’s a citizen now. If you truly want citizenship you will do what it takes.

@PaulHerzog3 Importing people who accept lower wages keeps our wages here low, while remittances take that money outside of our national and local economies. Simultaneously cost of living is through the roof. There are real issues behind this larger than jobs alone.

@SirCumference98 @KBP9a91 @infern0o0 We don’t. I spend 7% of my income on it and get to keep 59% of that in an HSA that I keep for life. You pay far more in taxes for yours and you keep none of it. I did a bill comparison with couple in Surrey and they were astounded how much you pay vs us.

@KimiGoatanelli I’m from Florida. Just got back from Surrey today after a week and a half. No AC the whole trip. It was warm, slightly uncomfortable at worst. You are severely exaggerating how bad you have it at 30C. The humidity levels are mild, on par with California coast at worst.
