@pcp_uk@therapyconnect1@ClientsConnect We're planning a campaign 4 relational, client-centred, open-ended counselling & psychotherapy in NHS & community settings to loosen the strangle hold of IAPT & "evidence based" psy treatments. Any suggestions for the name of the campaign?
I was the on-call SpR psychiatrist last night in South London
I assessed people in a mental health crisis who needed emergency inpatient care
There was NOT A SINGLE PSYCHIATRIC BED AVAILABLE IN THE ENTIRE COUNTRY

but ugh reading "She is a lesbian" in the doctor's notes from my last counseling session really ugh. IDK??? im neither a she nor a lesbian. im bi nonbinary. and i dont want to be paying therapists who will assume my gender and sexuality instead of asking me

Which do you think is most important in facilitating change?
Just had my first counselling session and it went so well, i actually feel so much better than i usually do it really helped open myself to somethings and why i have certain problems etc
had a counselling session today for support with a difficult patient on the ward and honestly felt so good to talk about it and see everyone was feeling the same. It has been a challenging few months ✨✨
@EnglandsRose88 Really riles me up!! I have an initial appointment with a private counsellor Friday. It’s £30 a session though 😬 the NHS will only offer me CBT but I’ve had years of it with very little success, I recently found out it’s not usually appropriate for autistic people.
Jealousy of people in your therapist's life is not unusual. It often arouses shame, but it is a v common response to particular needs being exposed in therapy. If you feel able to, it can be a worthwhile conversation to have with your therapist.
Therapists: please be open to it.
