The fossil fuel industry is hyping hydrogen to justify an ongoing role for methane gas and the build out of more pipelines — this thread is an important reality check.
@hausfath@DoctorVive@chriscmooney@NaemaAhmed@JohnMuyskens Waste heat from 4th gen nuclear could be a pretty good heat source that wouldn't be nearly as geographically dependent but we're probably a decade or two away from that being a reality
@AVindman@kanye@elonmusk Ye is going off the rails... As they said of Mussolini and Eichmann at least they made the trains run on time. Musk must be the railroad barron in this metaphor
@DoctorVive Agree 💯. Unproven at any scale. I'm not saying I don't want CDR to work but I agree we certainly can't count on it. Yet we keep on burning fossil fuels and hoping for techno fixes
I think it's irresponsible and dangerous for scientists to talk about carbon removal (CDR) as a solution to overshooting 1.5 C without explicitly mentioning the possibility that CDR might not work at scale. https://t.co/5UZbRBNspT
@gtconway3d Standing by Trump and questioning election integrity all the way up to January 6th through all of his incompetent and criminal conduct does not make Mike Pence a hero or immune from prosecution. I'm glad he's speaking out now but it's too little too late Mike
@gtconway3d George you've done a hell of a job representing common sense and explaining the craven lunacy of Trump and his minions... Give them hell George
@newrepublic@MichaelEMann This isn't an onion article? Boy Ye has really gone off the proverbial deep end... It'd be nice to see some lawsuits that strip away his billions of dollars similar to the suits brought against Alex Jones
@Unitvectori@MichaelEMann@TimGuinee Yeah they knew what they were doing back in the '70s... And then they covered it all up and hired the tobacco lawyers to smear the scientists just like the CFC industry did to Roland and Molina
