It's for this reason that Africa’s twin frameworks for infrastructure and energy development – the Programme for Infrastructure Development in Africa (PIDA) and the Continental Power Systems Master Plan (CMP) – aim to coordinate #investments, harmonise policy, and build a unified, low-carbon energy system for Africa.
The Kilimanjaro Declaration outlines the foundational philosophy of the Africans Rising movement. The declaration unifies all members of Africans Rising for Unity, Justice, Peace and Dignity, which was formally launched on African Liberation Day, 25 May, 2017.
For the month of July we will be highlighting Climate Justice which is one of the core pillars of the Africa We Want. We're exploring the real impact of climate change across the continent, the systemic forces eroding climate justice for African people, and the governance gaps from political leadership failures to weak media accountability that maybe stalling meaningful climate policy action.

Civic participation actively seeks removing barriers that prevent meaningful engagement in political processes. This includes but isn’t limited to addressing hurdles such as complicated voter registration requirements, inconvenient election timing and accessibility issues that disproportionately affect marginalized communities.
Civic space is a cornerstone of a functioning democracy; an open and free civic space emerges through the combined efforts of a range of actors, inclusive government policy ,line ministries, public institutions, civil society and a well informed citizenry.
