@taylorkrauseee and I braved a conversation around carbon pricing and some of the inherent distrust around market mechanisms in addressing issues of equity alongside climate change. Thank you all that joined and thank you to @Energy_Leaders!
Here's a piece I wrote on solar energy and the potential to reward clean makers of the technology with innovative trade policy. Enjoy! https://t.co/Vallh2hTPu
Parts of the Amazon now emit more carbon than they absorb.
Sea-level rise is double the rate of 30 years ago.
And the past 7 years are on track to be the warmest on record.
We must act now – with ambition & solidarity – to save our future & humanity.
Anyone notice how hazy the skies have looked of late? This is due to smoke from the U.S. wildfires which is getting transported across the country via the jet stream. While most of the smoke is higher in the sky, some of it could make its way closer to the ground.
Wishing our friends in Georgia 🇬🇪 all the best has they celebrate 30 years of regained independence this week. Proud to support their sovereignty and continued efforts for an enduring democracy.
@Kharnivore2099@gothsloth666@MexicanSummer I think whether AP had different but reasonable and acceptable opinions was a call that Mexican Summer had to make, and I would respect their decision instead assuming that they made the wrong call. Seems to me like AP did a little more than simply attend a rally.
Today we are releasing a first-of-its-kind study that underscores America’s striking carbon efficiency advantage over its key trading partners. Check it out: https://t.co/UxW5vjWw9v
We want to take the time to reflect on the 26 lives that have been lost this year in the wildfires. As we continue to battle these large and devastating fires we are keeping them and their families in our thoughts.
I’m saddened to hear that Ted Halstead, founder of @TheCLCouncil, has passed away in a hiking accident. In his too-short career, Ted was a tireless advocate for the environment and an effective coalition builder. His energy and vision will be sorely missed.
“A world wracked by frequent and devastating shocks from climate change cannot sustain the fundamental conditions supporting our financial system,” concluded the report. https://t.co/XOTtmm3TOm
It's truly an honor to be a part of Ted's team, laying down the path to bipartisanship and solving climate change. We're shocked and heartbroken by his passing, but I know his wife and his little girl will keep him close and continue to watch as his legacy changes history.
We are deeply saddened to announce that our founder and CEO Ted Halstead died suddenly in a hiking accident last week. Ted was more than a brilliant leader and climate policy pioneer; he was a visionary. (1/)
