Academia has fundamentally forgotten what tenure is for.
It is for protecting scholars from retaliation by academic peers over scholarly disagreements.
It is not for protecting scholars or universities from accountability to the society that gives them free money so they can do pure research.
The personal and financial independence we give to scholars is not completely free and unconditional. It comes with strings attached.
We expect that their research, while we cannot always expect it to be fruitful, will at least try to benefit us.
And we expect that the research they pursue will be guided by our values as a nation.
Otherwise, what's in it for us?
If you want to be completely free, then, fine. Don't take our money. Find your own sponsors. And don't expect us to accredit you.
The American academic system was created and paid for by the American people, and if it doesn't serve us, then we suffer no detriment from tearing it all down.
Because we are the customer. If you don't deliver what we pay for, we're not gonna wanna pay.
And we have more votes than you. And more guns.
this fucking faggot's ploy is so obvious. he wants AI to be like every other large industry that is so regulated by the government, only the existing big players can walk the tightrope and stay profitable, using government contract money. he's terrified of competition.
> 5 Israelis were caught by multiple people dancing and celebrating with lit lighters when the towers fell
> Two admitted to having ties to Mossad
> They went on Israeli TV and literally admitted Mossad sent them on a mission
> They had bomb residues in their "work" car which was tied to a fake business later identified as a Mossad op
> Hours before the first plane hit a message went out on Israeli messaging app Odigo Messenger telling people to stay away from the towers
These are not things that one's "greatest ally" does
That is what we should have never forgotten
@spqr_sulla it's not because they're brown, although that might seem the case superficially, it's because they're inbred retards that will always be reliant on the government and are easy to manipulate.
@P_vonOberstein@GamingAndPandas right, I've seen some evidence that Mohammed was a title and not the name of an individual and that islam evolved from christian heresies that were prevalent in the region at the time.
@P_vonOberstein@GamingAndPandas he didn't write anything, he was famously illiterate, but your overall assessment is correct. halal is just discount kosher.
@GamingAndPandas not quite, Mohammed, an eplileptic pagan who heard lots of stories from christians and jews in his eary life as a trader, wanted to be considered a prophet in the jewish tradition but got rejected because of course lol. this led to much butthurt and vows of revenge.
@UsingLyft as the saying goes... "We know that they are lying, they know that they are lying, they even know that we know they are lying, we also know that they know we know they are lying too... but they are still lying."
