@timdoke @hubermanlab I’m a patient, not an expert on stimulants but – as with any drug – the response might vary and is impacted by factors like food intake, timing, age, weight, drug-drug interactions, genetics, maybe even epigenetics, microbiome. Hope @hubermanlab will dive into this as well.

@hubermanlab Please clearly differentiate the effects of stimulants on patients with ADHD versus neurotypicals. Are the benefits of stimulants for ADHD patients outweighing the risks, taking into consideration that untreated ADHD is significantly increasing mortality and decreasing lifespan?

@timdoke @hubermanlab Yes, this paradox effect is common in patients with ADHD. The stimulant is reducing inner restlessness/hyperactivity and racing thoughts which helps with relaxation and sleep.
