With all the discussion about Medicaid right now, one fact that never finds its way into the talking points is the Medicaid funds spent on illegal immigrants. In California, that is $10 billion just this year.
Over 10 years, that would be around $150 billion with conservative growth assumptions. Realistically, given that the cost jumped 46 percent this year, the amount will be several hundred billion.
That is funding that could go to providing access to care for vulnerable Californians.
We were excited to welcome @CAgovernor to the San Diego region to support the Otay Mesa East Port of Entry! 🚛 This project will boost our economy and improve life for communities on both sides of the border. Together, we’re building a stronger future! #OtayMesaEast@SDCaltrans

I cast my vote at the Belle Cooledge Community Center, honoring the first woman to serve Sacramento as the mayor and her legacy of breaking barriers in our city. If elected, I would become the first Black woman to serve as Sacramento's Mayor, carrying this legacy forward.
Join me in making history—vote for me, Dr. Flojaune Cofer, and don’t forget to vote #YesOnE to protect our libraries. Measure E is NOT a new tax, just an extension of our current library support. Without your vote, our libraries face reduced hours and closures.

No cargo bike? No problem. Carabiner and a bungee cord, and I’m hauling a week’s worth of lunches to the office. #juneisStillBikeMonth
I did miss the e-assist though. 🥵
