This is what long-term product building looks like.
BTC was $540 when my crypto journey began.
I approached bank tellers to evangelize, believing BTC could reach five figures.
I've never been ghosted like that. 100% apathy and zero response.
Never did I imagine joining a cracked team to invest where the world’s youngest continent meets its newest technology.
If someone told me this In 2016, I would’ve dismissed them, just as those tellers dismissed me.

Twin goals of EF:
1. Usage of Ethereum - but usage of a type where users are actually benefiting from Ethereum's underlying properties
2. Resilience and decentralization of Ethereum - viewed holistically, focused on addressing points of weakness anywhere in the stack
Even though there are a lot of other things being built on Ethereum, the only thing that has really kept my interest for many years now is DeFi.
There is no bigger use-case than DeFi as it has a total addressable market of the entire planet and can also have the most long-term impact on the world.
There is also no other use-case that will drive more value to ETH than DeFi - nothing even comes close in terms of how much ETH demand and value it creates.
Going forward, for Ethereum to win and win big, we need to ensure that it remains the home of DeFi (in particular, high value DeFi). We also need to make sure that most/all of the RWA tokenization and TradFi integrations happen within the Ethereum ecosystem.
Win DeFi; win everything else.
Huge congrats to EigenLayer on launching slashing—a milestone that will be remembered in the evolution of blockchain security.
Hoenn is deeply inspired and proud to be building with this new paradigm in mind.

I just had a great call with the Acting President of South Korea. We talked about their tremendous and unsustainable Surplus, Tariffs, Shipbuilding, large scale purchase of U.S. LNG, their joint venture in an Alaska Pipeline, and payment for the big time Military Protection we provide to South Korea. They began these Military payments during my first term, Billions of Dollars, but Sleepy Joe Biden, for reasons unknown, terminated the deal. That was a shocker to all! In any event, we have the confines and probability of a great DEAL for both countries. Their top TEAM is on a plane heading to the U.S., and things are looking good. We are likewise dealing with many other countries, all of whom want to make a deal with the United States. Like with South Korea, we are bringing up other subjects that are not covered by Trade and Tariffs, and getting them negotiated also. “ONE STOP SHOPPING” is a beautiful and efficient process!!! China also wants to make a deal, badly, but they don’t know how to get it started. We are waiting for their call. It will happen! GOD BLESS THE USA.

We buy less U.S. cars because they don't fit the streets of Seoul or Tokyo. But we buy $$billions of decades old U.S. aircraft as part of offset trade, in exchange for the permission to sell cars in the U.S. It's important to inform the full trade picture, not just single product.
Restaking with slashing and a diverse marketplace of collateral use cases open the room for differentiated staking strategies (in @symbioticfi represented through vaults, example illustration below).
We're at the very early stages but seeing some of the early innings of this starting to take shape, but it's especially important to understand that slashing can mean very different things:
In a standard Proof-of-Stake network, slashings are a very rare incident due to sophistication of professional node operators (see e.g. @ratedw3b for historical data on Ethereum). Or take a look at @chaoslabs analysis of the first slashable restaking network for @EtherFi: @primev_xyz, concluding with a low risk assessment: https://t.co/bFyCF2XVPJ
Meanwhile, novel use cases such as insurance or other risk underwriting may have very different assumptions.
An emerging industry of risk curators is gearing up to provide risk-optimized returns for their clients and we are seeing various different approaches and frameworks for evaluating risk emerging, including e.g. from node operators such as @P2Pvalidator in collaboration with @tokensightxyz: https://t.co/5pR2h1LM6u
If you are interested in these topics, building, or actively doing research, please reach out -- this is an area of major focus for us to collaborate with teams both wrt novel approaches to slashing enabled by Symbiotic's primitives, as well as fundamental or data-driven research to educate and analyze.
Slashing arrives on mainnet April 17th. 🗡️
