Funny how campaign finance reform suddenly becomes urgent the second a political outsider starts competing with the machine.
Unions, PACs, and political insiders spend big money in Massachusetts races all the time. But when a candidate uses his own money instead of owing favors to the usual crowd, now it’s a “democracy” crisis?
If Beacon Hill wants a real conversation about money in politics, great. Let’s have it. But cherry-picking the issue only when it’s politically convenient is exactly why people don’t trust the system.

@MassFiscal NetZero 🤦♂️must mean net zero growth, net zero taxpaying business, the only thing we are netting is an outflow of residents to states like NH or FL….sigh
NEW STUDY 📉📊
Massachusetts homeowners are paying thousands less thanks to Proposition 2½.
If Prop 2½ was never passed, the median bill would exceed $24,000.
Despite the rhetoric, it’s not overly restrictive. It simply prevents automatic tax hikes.

🚨 BRUNSWICK RESIDENT CALLS OUT THE SCHOOL BUDGET SHELL GAME 🚨
Sean Hogan just laid it out plain and simple at the City Council meeting:
“We need to treat the school department as a business — not a social service.”
While test scores in English, math, and science keep dropping year after year…
The school budget has exploded — up $21.9 million (a 54.5% increase) since the current superintendent took over.
What do we have to show for it? Nothing but declining achievement.
Hogan nailed the double standard:
• Teachers and bus drivers shouldn’t lose their jobs.
• But the executives and school board who keep delivering worse results? They should be out.
He exposed the numbers trickery:
Budget talks about “cutting positions,” but the official ED 279 reports show the teacher count barely changes — or even goes up.
“It’s a shell game.”
Enough with the excuses. Enough with the endless tax increases for failing outcomes.
Time to run schools like a real business: demand results or change the leadership.
