1/ Design leaders are failing junior designers. I consistently see junior designers and design students ask for help with their portfolio, but I rarely see them ask for help getting better at design. Why is this a problem for design leaders?
An 8-part thread:
@bkravitz Probably more relevant to look only at teams that play Game 1 on the road (lower seeds). And those teams are 21-56 (27.3 percent). So winning game 1 correlates to quite a large positive differential for underdogs.
@msuster appreciated your candor on ADHD in Inc. This was helpful for me in better understanding founders I work with, but also as a father to a teen with ADHD. We're still giving him puzzles as gifts though ;)
@8pts9secs @IndyInThePaint The criticism of management is a bit over the top. Pacers sat their top two players, and played a starting 5 that featured nobody with more than 3 yrs exp, two of whom are rookies.
They did what was reasonable and ethical with roster mgmt.
@kyleplacy Just went to the top balcony on Friday. The Jumbotron is massive and the view is still good. It can really mess with equilibrium if you’re prone to feeling vertigo though.
I cancelled Twitter Blue today. On the fence about whether I’ll close my Twitter account entirely. Tough call after 13 years but I’m not a fan of megalomaniacs running social media companies.
It feels like Frank Reich coaches every game like his historic Bills comeback over the Oilers. Three quarters of sleepwalking, 1 quarter of heroics. Although I don’t think we’re getting the heroics in this one.
@ComptonMC Yeah that’s true. I was thinking abt when they bought Beats and still made AirPods. They could acquire Pelotons user base to integrate into their Health subscription and stay away from messing with the bike
I watched a crowd of teenagers try to keep a friend from starting a fight in the McDonald's parking lot today. He didn't fight but he punched a hole in the mural I despise on the side of our building. So I guess overall it was a great outcome for all of us.
I'm a huge fan of Andreeson Horowitz, but I can't think of many people I'd trust less to solve the housing crisis than Adam Neumann and a firm based in one of the least equitable communities in the country. https://t.co/dnrAVYBlby
