The killing of Sara Sharif is yet another time when home schooling is used to hide serious abuse. Home Schooling should not be allowed when there are serious concerns about children

Good for her! This is a painful but important watch. When what happened surfaced I knew she was telling the truth because why the fuck would she lie!? She was actually quite brilliant on #Strictly and no doubt would’ve got far so why jeopardise that? I’m proud of her. 💪🏼
In 2018 after three years litigation against Wigan Council I won & they settled out of court. But as part of the process in April 2017 I had to submit to a psychologists report. I heard it for the 1st time via the safety of the stage in front of a live audience of Witnesses.

How often have you heard young people described as being 'known to services' by people who don't know them at all?

It's great to see how the evidence I & others gave to the Jay Review of Criminal Exploitation has been used, adding to calls for
- an end to the criminalisation of all exploited children
- an alternative child protection pathway
- resourced responses
- partnerships with parents
How can we safeguard and promote the welfare of children when those who coordinate or provide such support are so chronically underfunded?
These conditions are not conducive with protection they are conducive with harm
Children deserve better!
Thank you @ADCStweets

Pleased to see the vulnerability of boys & young men being identified. Too often boys will get a punitive response rather than their vulnerability being identified. Let us not also forget that where there are young men there will be young women. More here: https://t.co/IEBXSFQxHQ
Last year, @MOPACldn commissioned us to inspect how well the @metpoliceuk handles child exploitation.
Our inspection found that the force's response to the criminal and sexual exploitation of children is not currently effective.
