An international agreement of this nature would legalize this violent practice against women and the sale of children worldwide.

Updated Cochrane Review on immediate maternal skin-to-skin contact shows benefit for babies such that research randomising to separate is not ethical. "The findings show there is now enough evidence to make immediate skin-to-skin contact after birth the global standard of care"
