The biggest cheat code is pretending that every person you meet has a sign around their neck that says, "Make me feel important". Everyone's spotlight is fixed on themselves. Make it about them and you'll get farther in life than making it about you.
A peak life advice from Alex Hormozi:
“The single greatest skill you can develop is the ability to stay in a great mood in the absence of things to be in a great mood about.”
Underrated life advice: Make yourself easy to root for. Be kind. Be reliable. Celebrate other people’s wins. Work hard without complaining. Carry good energy into rooms. You'll be shocked by how many doors open for you by making life better for others.
The biggest cheat code on the planet is the ability to be in a good mood regardless of what's going on in your life. Not letting external events dictate how you feel is a skill we can learn. If you can train yourself to be in a bad mood you can train yourself to be in a good one.
The older I get, the more I realize how dangerous it is to keep pushing things off. You tell yourself you’ll start next week, next month, next year. Then suddenly a lot of time has passed and nothing has changed. An entire life can be built (or pass you by) in tiny moments.
If you want to stand out, just do the old fashioned things well:
- Be on time
- Be well read
- Practice good posture
- Look people in the eye
- Do what you say you'll do
- Have a confident handshake
Few live up to this standard. It will never go out of style.
Major life hack: The ability to keep showing up even when the rewards are uncertain. Tolerance for uncertainty is the most valuable human trait. The one who can tolerate the most uncertainty is the one who will eventually win.
Something I’ve had to relearn again and again: Nothing changes if nothing changes. The new life you want doesn’t magically appear. It’s built through ruthless action. New habits. New mindsets. New standards. New boundaries. Reinvention has a cost of entry. Pay it with pride.
The most important skill for creativity is no longer original thinking. It’s taste and tenacity.
In the age of AI, ideas are abundant. Good judgment and execution are scarce.
The future belongs to those who excel at finding and amplifying the signal in the noise.
Call me old fashioned, but I think showing up is the key to life. Show up when it’s hard. Show up when no one’s watching. Show up when you don't feel like it. Show up when the rewards are uncertain. Show up. You can never bet against the person who just keeps showing up.
I’m in love with this sentence:
“The degree to which a person can grow is directly proportional to the amount of truth he can accept about himself without running away.”
