Two people making games as Cobo. Right now: Mytheria, a pixel art co-op game in Godot. Devlogs, dev tips, and the rough versions we couldn't leave alone.
i gave my tiny pixel hero 8 weapons
there's a returning chakram, a five-arrow bow, and a rod that chains sparks between enemies. which would you take? #mytheria
i made my player six times bigger. i made myself six times bigger for a Mytheria test and gave the giant player a huge axe. i can walk through trees, and each swing cuts down a patch of forest. the tree counter climbs past 100.
i gave my enemies clear attack warnings. i made each enemy in Mytheria show what it's about to do. the Hollowhorn marks its charge, the Belltoad swells before a shockwave, and the small Flintmite crouches before it snaps.
i added a tiny light to hits in my game. i made hits in Mytheria light up for a moment. this clip shows the same club swing with the light off and on, then how i reuse six small lights for different weapons.
i kept my character visible behind big trees. i made big trees in Mytheria turn see-through when they cover my character. this clip shows the same walk with the fade off and on, then the small check that controls it.
