@Boeing just grounded its 777X test fleet after a post-flight inspection found cracks in the engine-mounting structure.
It continues to blow my mind just how many problems the 777X has experienced when the original 777 has been such a reliable machine...

Seems like it's gonna be a quiet day at #Farnborough. No commercial announcements planned for either Boeing or Airbus.
Most people I've talked to have shared that this airshow has been more low-key than most. Considering I'm still jet lagged I'm not complaining
Not sure if someone accidentally hit “send”early, but just got an email from Airbus comms saying Virgin is buying 7 more A330NEOs. Schedule says that customer announcement was supposed to be at 11:30…
Why do I look like a giant in this pictures 😂
In all seriousness, the A220's cockpit is super spacious for a narrow body. Thanks to @JetBlue for having me aboard!
Btw…remember how the 787-10 was supposed to gain more range w a HGW?
Had sources confirm that that initiative is in the back burner and isn’t coming in late 2024 like originally anticipated.
Big W for the A350-900.
Update: Boeing’s 9:30 presser isn’t a commercial announcement - it’s an update about their X-66 demonstrator. No money to be made here but should still be interesting
Farnborough Day 2: we’re being told to expect a Boeing commercial announcement at 9:30 UTC and an Airbus one at 11:30. I’ll keep y’all updated right here
So, Korean ordered 20 777Xs (and 20 more 787s). And for some reason myself and a bunch of my media colleagues didn’t get a notice about the press conference…
I guess Boeing *doesn’t* want good publicity? 🤔
#Farnborough Day 1: After a beautiful and sunny day zero, day 1 kicks off with clouds and drizzles. You didn't really expect the UK to produce a full week of nice weather, did you?
Breaking: Boeing won’t bring any of their flight test aircraft to the Farnborough airshow.
They also won’t be bringing Starliner, opting to leave it docked at the space station indefinitely 🤷🏼♂️
