I interviewed Daniel Cazzulino about his new library, SponsorLink. Daniel landed in hot water a couple weeks ago when he added SponsorLink to his popular .NET library, Moq.
Daniel also told me that he is addressing all the privacy concerns raised, stating that his plan was to:
"Completely revamp the implementation so that privacy is taken very seriously."
“If you want a library that is regularly updated by a team of developers, someone needs to pay those developers.”

The past 3 interviews have been with developers who have long established their businesses selling software libraries. Today I am publishing an interview with a developer who is still in the middle of building his software business. 1/6
Here are some quotes:
“At this point in time, my focus is on getting the word out there. Having as many developers as possible come into contact with Borb.”
“There are no magic formulas. You work hard, build a good product, then promote it accurately to the market.”
“Fundamentally, successful software companies seek to amortize their large initial investment over two things: customers and time.”

@MathiasNestler@codecodeship A few off the top of my head:
* Fully fledged NLP similar to Spacy (despite LLMs)
* A powerful admin dashboard
* More featureful security scanning
* Linting add-ons for Credo
* A well-maintained SAML library
Expanding on the statement, "There are tremendous opportunities for commercial Elixir libraries"
Here are some excellent Elixir packages where I see missed open-core opportunities (whether they wanted to commercialize or not) 👇

I interviewed Bruno Lowagie (@bruno1970), who successfully commercialized his FOSS library, iText, between 2008 and 2018. He recently wrote a book, Entreprenerd. It's a very interesting case study.
