@SouthwestAir Using "standby" for customers without seat assignments on their confirmed flight is likely spiking call volume. For most travelers, "standby" implies their seat isnβt guaranteed, creating unnecessary anxiety. Better terminology would save everyone a headache.

The corporate lexicon needs to be expanded to include "opps" (not to be confused with ops). How much more fun would meetings be if you could say things like "Jim, the opps just took 25% of our market share" or "Bill, we're going to crush the opps with this marketing campaign". π€

@ajheem12 Love Pete's perspective on "lotteries". I've applied that term similarly to describe the set of initial life circumstances that are beyond our control. IMHO, the family lottery is the most important. Sadly, to be successful in the US you have to win a few of these lotteries.
