Now, I'm sure there are plenty more issues to fix. (In fact, I'm tracking a few.) But, I would still like to take this moment, to celebrate this win. So... \o/
On 02-02-2026, the devnet broke its total-data-stored record with 373GB at its peak, which lasted about an hour.
On 17-02-2026, the devnet returned to this record and surpassed it. At this time we're sitting at 427GB of slot data stored.
This shows us that the improvements from the past month have made a clear impact in the ability of our devnet nodes to utilize their resources. Previously, one issue or another would cause the nodes to crap out before reaching these numbers.
@JessieBroke@VitalikButerin If anyone wants some info on how Archivist is doing in practice, hit me up. I've got all the devnet/testnet numbers, and wrote a script to put Ethereum ERA history files in the network. tldr: It's Working!
@codexthatben is leading a weekly workshop on Tuesdays for folks who are interested in participating in Archivist devnet as a storage provider node here's a link to the Discord server and event below:
Every cloud provider has a throat to choke.
Archivist doesn’t.
AWS goes down? You’re down.
Azure throttles? You wait.
Google sneezes? Your data catches a cold.
Centralized clouds mean centralized failure —
one point of control, one point of pressure, one point of collapse.
Archivist is different.
No single owner.
No kill switch.
No backroom phone call that takes your data offline.
Your data isn’t hosted — it’s distributed.
Not controlled — secured by design.
Not permissioned — resilient by default.
In a world where data is power,
Archivist removes the chokehold.
No throat to choke.
No master key.
No single point of failure.

That’s the future of storage. ☁️➡️🔒
