@tanpukunokami Definitely fine in terms of food and drink. It doesn’t mean you can take random objects or whatever. But consumables? Absolutely.

[Mara Cohen @coffeecakemama]

@Ameriking83 Wait why would Scandinavian countries be further out than Germany and France? By latitude that should be in the middle, right?

[Mara Cohen @coffeecakemama]

@mrdavidrowe @courtneyellis @JosiahHawthorne Exactly what I thought.

[Mara Cohen @coffeecakemama]

@JustJoshinNH I feel so seen.

[Mara Cohen @coffeecakemama]

@Aaron_____Davis @ma1ybe Oh, man.

[Mara Cohen @coffeecakemama]

@UrsulaV OK now post Daggerbound I have a question—if the party formed a few days from Ghaston, where Edmund left from, why did they need to ferry over the river to get to Archonhold? I feel like I misunderstood something there

[Mara Cohen @coffeecakemama]

@weiweiLandy @alliharvard OK Tim.

[Mara Cohen @coffeecakemama]

@SujMaRo @Aaron18_Music Oh they knew!

[Mara Cohen @coffeecakemama]

@Tiffnickk @Aaron18_Music Hmmmm note the long sleeves. I’m suspicious.

[Mara Cohen @coffeecakemama]

@JustJoshinNH I think so because my husband’s physical therapist strongly recommended them. Seems legit.

[Mara Cohen @coffeecakemama]

@Kyle_Fuller_117 @financedystop Why would she be working 20 hours a week? In a normal job (40 hours) at $25/hr, she’d be grossing more than $4k a month. Enough to cover the childcare and much more. No brained that makes more sense than staying home.

[Mara Cohen @coffeecakemama]

@schmook @HamHock42 Oh NO

[Aakash Gupta @aakashgupta]

When India accidentally wiped out its vultures, half a million people died in five years.

The bird doing zoomies in this video runs the most extreme digestive system in the animal kingdom. Vulture stomach acid sits near pH 1, strong enough to destroy anthrax, rabies, and botulism in the carcasses they eat. A flock strips a cow to bone in about 45 minutes.

India had 50 million of them. Free sanitation at national scale, in a country where religious custom means most cattle die natural deaths and every dead cow becomes a carcass someone has to deal with.

Then the patent on diclofenac expired in 1994. Farmers started using the cheap painkiller on livestock. Trace amounts left in a carcass cause kidney failure in vultures. Within a decade, 50 million birds fell to a few thousand. The fastest collapse of any bird species since the passenger pigeon.

The carcasses didn't disappear. Feral dogs took the vultures' place and brought rabies with them. Rotting remains leached into waterways. In districts where vultures once thrived, human death rates rose more than 4 percent. Economists at Chicago and Warwick put the toll at 100,000 extra deaths a year and $69 billion in annual damages.

So yes, the goofy bird sprinting down the walkway is adorable. It's also a disease firewall that evolution spent millions of years building and one generic painkiller nearly erased in ten.

@1dgrn It’s always the ones you’d most suspect…

[Mara Cohen @coffeecakemama]

@mpauldesigns @happybday_bitch I certainly did, lol.

[Mara Cohen @coffeecakemama]

@1dgrn Yeah it’s ignorant. I have school nightmares not because I don’t have more recent and more serious stressors, but because that’s just how my brain interprets stress and worry, because school happens at such a formative age.

[Mara Cohen @coffeecakemama]

@cloaca_official Not trying to ague but my parents are 72 and 80 and don’t have any issues with parking apps, basic tech (like TV, phone), and drs appts. I mean they’ll bitch about it (who wouldn’t) but thrift competent in the world around them.

@JustJoshinNH

[Mara Cohen @coffeecakemama]

@Chinchillazllla @theonlyfin Perfect, no notes

[Mara Cohen @coffeecakemama]

@CrazyCam73 @tvjedi Sorry but there’s NO way. 43 maaaaaaybe.
