The meeting underscored the government’s commitment to strengthening the coffee value chain, enhancing productivity, and empowering farmers through sustainable reforms. The main issue highlighted was the need to work closely with the Ministry of Co-operatives and MSMEs to enhance funding and support for the sector, while also encouraging greater involvement in initiatives such as tree nurseries to ensure sustainability and long-term growth.

This morning, together with the Principal Secretary for Parliamentary Affairs, Dr. @PSAureliarono, and the Principal Secretary for the State Department of @EnviClimateC_Ke, Dr. @Eng_F_Ngeno, I led the distribution of certified coffee and avocado seedlings to farmers in Kipreres Ward, Bomet East, Bomet County. This initiative demonstrates the Government’s firm commitment to supporting farmers and strengthening household livelihoods.
By encouraging coffee and avocado farming, we are creating new opportunities for families to increase their income, embrace sustainable agriculture, and build economic resilience. These high-value crops will not only boost productivity but also enhance food security and open pathways to prosperity for farming communities.
As Government, we remain dedicated to empowering farmers, driving agricultural transformation, and ensuring that households across Kenya thrive. Together, we are sowing the seeds of growth, resilience, and shared prosperity.

Following the National Cashew Conference 2026 under the theme “Revive & Thrive Unleashing Kenya’s Cashew Potential,” WRSC is advancing an action-driven agenda to operationalize WRS in the cashew value chain, unlocking structured markets and expanding farmers’ access to financing.
Today, I officially launched the inaugural National Cashew Conference (NCC) 2026 in Kwale county,@OurKwaleCounty, under the theme “Revive and Thrive: Unleashing Kenya’s Cashew Potential.”
This landmark conference unites stakeholders across the cashew value chain to deliberate on sustainable growth, investment opportunities, innovation, and strategies to revitalize Kenya’s cashew subsector.
As part of our commitment to farmers, I flagged off 200,000 certified seedlings for distribution in Kwale and Makueni, while @kenya_afa will spearhead the rollout of 2 million seedlings across 15 cashew-growing counties. These efforts reflect the Government’s dedication to strengthening value chains, boosting farmer incomes, and unlocking the full potential of the cashew industry—projected to inject an estimated KSh 60 billion into the economy within five years.
I was joined by Matuga MP Hon. Kassim Tandaza, @makuenigovt Deputy Governor H.E. Lucy Mulili, and AFA Board Chair Hon. Cornelly Serem, among other stakeholders, in reaffirming our collective resolve to revive and thrive.
