@gerritgrosse@PRACTIS_MHH Creativity is intelligence having fun. "Data scientists" are slaves who don't kow that they are slaves. That's the true story.
@PRACTIS_MHH@cogneuropsy
I'm not sure whether you understood my previous tweet: I'm a clinical neuropsychologist, and also a neuropsychological scientist, but the leading neuropsychological journals are in no way helpful to me. How can that be?
@dasaptaerwin @Sam_D_Parsons Not sure whether or not the drawing covers the problem perfectly. At the end, the pyramids served their function. In my view, the construction of the Tower of Babel would be the better metaphor, as long as we talk about psychological science.
@Sam_D_Parsons Sam, I totally agree that the problem is not solely intra-psychic; the structural conditions for conducting science badly need revision, YES.
@cogneuropsy Bruno, let's not presume that all academics are seeking fame - especially ECRs who are just trying to stay employed. It's far more reasonable to attribute the problem to job scarcity, poor incentives/judgements of quality (n pubs, impact factors), and the publishers monopoly.
Anybody else wondering why a reddit group can disrupt wall street and bankrupt hedge funds,
but academics are powerless against the for-profit publishing system?
