@_thekernel_@Tjonesonthenba I just saw several reports of that, not sure how reliable they are. I think the Bulls also have enough room, and there were several teams that could have made enough room with salary dumps
@tgi56@Tjonesonthenba@ESPN700 It also sounds like other teams were willing to offer him more. The Lakers probably did it to stop a bidding war and not have to be stuck in limbo for a week
@_thekernel_@Tjonesonthenba It sounds like there were other teams willing to offer even more than the $32M. Jazz probably had the choice of matching a $35-40M offer, lose him for nothing, or trade him for 2 unprotected firsts and 2 pick swaps.
@melodante12548@ArtTakesNote Yeah I agree. I think this season is going to be very telling for Key.
But also the day of designated PG and SG roles doesn't really exist anymore. I could see Key and DP both playing more of a combo guard together and taking turns playing on ball.
@125augustin125@CJRealHoops2 That's not just me thinking it. At the beginning of the season, almost every mock draft I saw had DP #1. It wasn't until the injuries that AJ passed him up.
@tmetcalf11 I just watched the full Kansas vs. Texas tech game to get a better understanding of him outside of just highlights.
He had like 4-5 awesome passes to wide open teammates who just missed. I'm going to watch more, but it definitely made me rethink his assist numbers.
@danclayt0n I agree that Lauri is a freakin stud. The only two problems I have is
1. Is he a $50mil a year stud? Things are going to get tight
2. I don't see a world where we prioritize him over Ace for the next 3 years. Do you think we should bench Ace for the rest of Lauri's contract?
@melodante12548@ArtTakesNote I don't understand why people think he is small. The average PG in the NBA is 6'3" - 6'4". Keyonte is 6'4"
Also the two point guards in the finals right now are Brunson and Fox, so that narrative may be changing.
But also yes, he needs to get better at D
@AnonymousLaptop@CJRealHoops2 People who are saying this haven't been following these draft prospects for very long. DP was the clear number one for a while before the cramping stuff happened. AJ only somewhat recently passed him up. But yes, either one would be awesome
@125augustin125@CJRealHoops2 That is definitely not true. DP has been my number one all season, way before the Jazz got the 2nd pick. People forget that DP was the clear number one on almost every draft board before the cramping stuff
@Jefe_5705@mammothfan@JWeinbachNBA Everything I'm seeing about a trade is from Wizards fan as well. For some reason they have this idea (or hope) that the Jazz are desperate to get AJ. Personally if I were the Jazz and had the first pick, I'd still go with DP
