For #EYAYourArchives we explored our shelves to uncover items we hadn’t seen before. Each day brings new discoveries, from unfamiliar documents to overlooked details. Today we found an architectural submission for the 1870s design competition for Dublin South City Markets.
This picture depicts a devastating scene that conservationists are seeing up and down the country this breeding season.
Lots of hard work is going into protecting these birds; working with farmers, landowners, and collaboration with other conservation groups.
We are now pleading with the public to assist us in a measure we can’t control, the threat from loose domestic pets on important breeding grounds.

Yahya Sobeih's last posts this morning: pictures of his daughter, born today.
Yahya was killed a few hours later when Israeli strike hit a group of families gathering to get a wifi connection in Gaza City. 29 people have been confirmed killed so far in that attack.
Rest in Peace dear ‘Paddy’ - our last of the ‘Few’ who we honour alongside all his comrades at the Museum.
Our flag will fly at half mast for the next seven days to mark the passing of the great man.
