@GoodmanHoops 2/2 - If the coaches/ADs/collectives would DO that then the market would drop to equilibrium. But, they DON'T. B/c the coach, the school, and the fans, want to win above all else. They exasperate their own problems and then cry "Its unsustainable!" Or "College sports are dead!"

@GoodmanHoops 1/2 - "Then say NO!" This incessant whining about what $ players are 'supposedly' asking is asinine. No player is entitled to a spot on your team. You aren't entitled to recruiting a particular player. Negotiate! Asking too much? Then move on! The market will self-correct.

Now they all have a chance to play for a better squad they go. The behavior isn't new. More guys have options. Thats what different.

The athletes are supposed to be students. Want to fix it? Start there! Schools want the $. They don't care about their own grad/matriculation rules which would fix most of this.

And also, the schools are all complicit for the $, admittedly so. So if you want to talk about education, start with school leadership
