New Anthropic research: Natural Language Autoencoders.
Models like Claude talk in words but think in numbers. The numbers—called activations—encode Claude’s thoughts, but not in a language we can read.
Here, we train Claude to translate its activations into human-readable text.
A #birddivination I needed to revisit today, perhaps you do too. Part of the deck of 100 at https://t.co/xpo04XE701 and a solo print at https://t.co/sjEWtMQR2t
Petr Slovak, Reader (Associate Professor) in Human-Computer Interaction at @KingsCollegeLon, recently joined us for the seminar series hosted by @AHA_MediaLab! Watch the archived video: https://t.co/QyYYDh8f2l
New in Notion AI’s toolbelt: @OpenAI's GPT-5
It’s fast, thorough, and handles complex work 15% better than other models we’ve tested. A great choice for tasks with multiple moving parts.
Gradual rollout starting today.
Led by Prof. @pliang279, the Multisensory Intelligence group is working to develop AI tools that can perceive scents. SmellNet, the first large-scale dataset of real-world smells, is a foundational step toward bringing olfactory perception into AI. https://t.co/KWcBjEWv8T
What most everyone will remember from @Kipyegon_Faith sub 4min mile attempt are her responses afterwards:
“I feel good that I tried… it’s only a matter of time… I will still go for it.” It’s an awesome thing to invite the whole world in to watch your positive strivings.
Today I'm launching the waitlist for Klaus. He is an exhibition chatbot that cuts through the noise to help you find the shows that truly matter to u. U'll never have to through 100s of exhibition listings again, just ask Klaus what shows relate to [insert your topic here].

🔹 SPACES II: Capturing the Ephemera with PhillipsX
“In collaboration with PhillipsX, the second edition of the SPACES exhibition, SPACES II: Capturing the Ephemera, is coming to Hong Kong between March 27 and April 15, 2025. The exhibition brings together seven pioneering artists, namely, Refik Anadol, Random International, Tyler Hobbs, Addie Wagenknecht, Maja Petrić, Gina Choy, and Sougwen Chung — who, in their own ways, examine how technology can capture, reinterpret, and reimagine ephemeral moments.
In the context of this exhibition, Sougwen Chung will present a new set of digital works titled Fourth Phase of Water from the BODY MACHINE (MERIDIANS) – Glacier Biome series, exploring spatial movements, speculative machines, and planetary biomes.
📍 On view at Phillips’ Asia headquarters: G/F, WKCDA Tower, West Kowloon Cultural District, No. 8 Austin Road West, Kowloon, Hong Kong.

“The criticism we were encouraged to write as students, the kind that won affirmation and approval, sounded dead,” the renowned feminist once reflected. “I write to live.” https://t.co/FAMGxreeJy
Next week on the @MuseLearningHub we have a workshop double-feature! On Tuesday, we’ll cover social media management tools; and on Thursday, we’ll discuss how to ideate, create, and launch impactful social media campaigns! @collectingmaps

@byalicelee It's definitely reopening in the Bay! People are moving at different paces, and I think I may be on a more cautious side - seeing friends but not indoor dining in the public yet.
I saw this note from an expert that makes me feel a little more comfortable: https://t.co/IItPVCDKNb
In case anyone cares, I've started eating indoors in SF restaurants. It wasn't any one thing; the risk just fell below my personal threshold: 2/3rds of SF adults fully vaxxed; avg 16 new cases/d in SF, asymptomatic test + @UCSF now 0.16% (ie, 1/600). Plus too cold to eat outside.
We’re back! The Exploratorium reopens to all visitors on July 1, with special members-only previews June 24–27. We’ve missed you, and we’re so excited to safely welcome you through our doors again. Reserve your timed tickets today: https://t.co/OYdpcQk6JL.
Sharing because we all can use more laughter and a reminder that we're all humans (or...cats) doing our best to navigate living and working through a pandemic. Also: 👀
